Company History

Great Southwestern Fire & Safety (GSF) has served the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex since 1970. Guy Brown Fire and Safety, Inc. acquired GSF in 1984. Fire Systems International, Growth Concepts, Hunt County Fire Extinguisher Company and North Texas Exhaust Cleaning were later acquired in the 1990’s. Merging the strengths and proficiency of each of these organizations has produced a company with excellent capabilities.

Guy Brown, a six-year veteran with the Dallas Cowboys, formed Guy Brown Fire & Safety, Inc. in 1982. Since that time, he has channeled his competitiveness, energy, and drive in the fire protection industry. GSF's team of professionals provides the optimum combination of quality products, competitive pricing, and reliable service.

GSF was one of two companies recently honored as a “TXU Gold Star Supplier”. The company is a past Nominee for the D/FW Minority Business Development Council’s Minority Business Enterprise Of The Year. Guy Brown is a past recipient of the Quest For Success Award; sponsored by Bank One, Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce, Dallas Morning News, Miller Brewing Company and WFAA-TV.

GSF is a full line distributor of fire extinguishers, fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems (design, installation, repair, maintenance) to name a few items. The company also provides vent-hood and exhaust system cleaning for commercial kitchens grease removal. The service departments are excellent, with experienced licensed service technicians to assist customers with their safety concerns. State of the art equipment allows the company to be prompt and professional in serving customers.
